San Francisco 49ers 2018 Predictions

The San Francisco 49ers are looking very good for the 2018-2019 season. If the end of last year’s season is any indication of how they’ll play this year, things are looking bright for the Niners. We see at least a ten win season with deep prospects in the playoffs. Here’s how we break down the season:

Week 1 at Minnesota (WIN): This one will be a big test for the Niners as they face the experience of Kirk Cousins. We see an early first win for the Niners.

Week 2 vs Detroit (WIN): Detroit won’t have what it takes to etch out a road win.

Week 3 at Kansas City (Loss): Despite the departure of Alex Smith, the confines of Arrowhead are really difficult and Andy Reid will have a prepared team. Look for Garoppolo to suffer his first loss on the road.

Week 4 at Los Angeles Chargers (WIN): The Niners will once again make Los Angeles feel like a home game.

Week 5 vs. Arizona (WIN): The Cardinals will have a new coach and a new QB. We don’t think they will have enough time together to inflict damage against the Niners.

Week 6 at Green Bay (Loss): Weather will still likely be favorable but if Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers stay healthy, they will outperform the Niners in this Monday Night matchup.

Week 7 vs. Los Angeles Rams (WIN): This will be the matchup that will test the 49ers. We think they will split the series and will win the first at home on Sunday night on NBC.

Week 8 at Arizona (Win): The Niners haven’t done particularly well in the desert over the years but we think they will overcome a string of losses to best the Cardinals.

Week 9 vs Oakland (WIN): Despite coming off a short week with 4 days between games, the Niners will come prepared to Oakland. Gruden and company will need a few more seasons to button things up.

Week 10 vs New York Giants (WIN): With a long week of rest, the Niners will wait to steamroll the Giants. Look for the Niners to really showcase their talents.

Week 11: BYE

Week 12 at Tampa Bay (LOSS): Niners will come out sluggish after a week of rest and won’t have enough to overcome James Winson and the Buccaneers.

Week 13 at Seattle (WIN): Richard Sherman is all we have to say.

Week 14 vs Denver (WIN): The last time the Broncos won a big game in Levi’s was during Super Bowll 50! But they will not have the same power to beat the Niners in 2018.

Week 15 at Seattle (WIN): Richard Sherman will have a bone to pick and will get everyone on the Niners defense to join that fight.

Week 16 vs Chicago (WIN): Garoppolo got his first win as a Niners in Chicago last year. We think he’ll keep the tradition alive this year.

Week 17 at LA Rams (LOSS): With a playoff spot secured, we think the Niners will be in rest mode and suffer a minor loss for a 12-4 season.

The Best Way to Buy MLB Tickets

The 2018 Major League Baseball season is under way and despite some winter-like conditions across the country, the weather is starting to warm up and fans are starting to hunt for the perfect game tickets. Here are some do’s and don’ts for the process:

DO: Start your search at your team’s official website for primary market tickets. All MLB baseball teams have addresses that start with mlb.com. For example, you can find New York Yankee tickets at www.mlb.com/yankees/tickets or San Francisco Giants tickets at www.mlb.com/giants/tickets. Don’t be fooled by websites that try to appear to be the primary website.

DON’T: Definitely don’t buy your tickets immediately from the primary site because they may not be the best deal. Baseball tickets are all listed at face value for single games but season ticket holders often get discounts because they are purchasing the entire season. So a $100 face-value seat might actually cost a season ticket holder much less. They often unload their extra tickets on the secondary market for less than face.

DO: Plan ahead. If you need large blocks of tickets, you will want to make sure you purchase those blocks early as you may not be able to find tickets together as the game date approaches.

DON’T: We don’t recommend buying a single ticket for a baseball game unless you absolutely have to sit in a very specific section or you don’t feel comfortable arriving without a ticket. Why? There are always single tickets floating around at the park and sometimes people with an extra ticket will just give it away!

DO: Compare, compare, compare. We like to shop at least two sites on the secondary market as well as the primary market. While many secondary sites have identical inventory, some have different tickets and all price their tickets differently. So shop around. Sometimes the savings are minimal but sometimes they can amount to hundreds of dollars.

DON’T: Don’t forget to consider the weather and check forecasts if you’re buying closer to game date. We bought tickets for a SF Giants game where the temps were in the high 90s (never happens in San Francisco). Fortunately, we bought seats on the shady first base side instead of the sunny third base side and stayed much cooler than most.

DO: Enjoy the game!!!

New Arenas Putting Out Terrible Food!

Northern California sports has witnessed a pair of new venues in the past few years with the Sacramento Kings moving to Golden 1 in 2016 and the San Francisco 49ers heading to Levi’s in Santa Clara in 2012. While the two venues offer some exciting new features over their prior locations, one thing is clear – the food is terrible.

At Levi’s, we think it best to stick to the hot dog as it’s pretty hard to mess that one up (although we have been there on several occasions where the hot dog stand has run out of hot dogs or buns – they were serving the dog on a hamburger bun!). The chicken sandwich occupied about 70% of the bun space. You would think that with the inflated stadium prices, they could get a piece of chicken large enough to cover the bun.

Golden 1 is no better. The “grass fed beef” burger at Bernardos was as disappointing as it gets. The burger filled the bun which was the size of a $1 burger at McDonalds. If you’re going to charge $13 for a burger, make it good. Or better yet, charge me $20 and give me a burger I’ll want to get again.

The Niners actually let you bring food into the game. With misleading locations like the Untied Club and the Levi’s Club, we recommend getting a sandwich at your local deli and pack in for the game.

Super Bowl Tickets All Time High

Super Bowl LII tickets (that’s 52 for us non-Roman numeral folks) are up for sale and higher than we’ve ever seen in our history selling tickets. It doesn’t even take that much thought to realize these ticket prices are the costliest in the history of the event. In years past, prices typically spike after the AFC and NFC are set But even with that spike, ticket prices normally hover in the high $2k to low $3k range. This year, prices are starting well into the $4k range and that’s just to get a seat in the worst part of the upper level. Looking for seats in the lower part of US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis? Get ready for form over $12k for a pair and if you’re searching for prime seats, we expecting tickets to start around $30k for a pair between the 30 yard lines.

So why the high prices? We think a lot of it is the early excitement. Ticket prices always drop a few days after the conference championship games and we expect ticket prices to do the same in the upcoming days. But this is the first time the Eagles have been to the big game since Super Bowl XXXIX. With the chance to avenge their 2005 loss, a lot of Philly fans are champing at the bit to witness the rematch.

For the Patriots, it’s business as usual. But many suspect this could be the final game of one of the greatest sports franchise dynasties. Tom Brady is 40 years old and the rumors of turmoil between Belichik and owner Robert Craft lead many to believe this could be the final game before they all part ways.

With a lights-out defense for the Eagles and the GOAT in Tom Brady, we expect to see a really terrific Super Bowl. If you can afford it, get your tickets later this week. If not, looking forward to a fun Sunday on a big flat screen!

Dodgers Force Epic Game 7 Versus Astros

The Houston Astros seemed perfectly positioned to win their first World Series in franchise history. Leading 3 games to 2, the Astros sent Justin Verlander to the mound in a matchup that certainly favored the American League champs. But baseball doesn’t always follow the script. Verlander did his part throwing shut-out ball thru five and seemed to be in control into the sixth. But Hill got the job done on his side and the Astros bats never seemed to be able to deliver the knock-out punch. The Dodgers capitalized in the 6th and 7th innings and never looked back.

So we head to game 7. The Dodgers will send Yu Darvish to the mound but all hands will be on deck. We expect to see some relief from Kershaw and appearances from the entire bullpen as Dave Roberts will try to do anything and everything to limit Astros hit production. The Astros will send Lance McCullers and hope their productive offense will produce.

Cheapseatstickets still has plenty of seats available for the decisive game 7 in Chavez Ravine. If you need a ticket, we can get it to you instantly thru e-delivery. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to see what may possibly go down as the greatest World Series…ever 🙂

There’s a New Judge in Town

If you haven’t seen Aaron Judge hit a baseball by now, you’re either not a baseball fan or you’ve been hiding under a rock. Judge put on an epic performance in the 2017 Home Run Derby in Miami. After Giancarlo Stanton made a first-round exit in the derby, it was looking like Judge might suffer the same fate after Justin Bour launched 22 bombs. But Judge not only hit 23 dingers, he did it without using any of his earned bonus time.

The stats on Judge during the derby were amazing. He hit four homers over 500 feet, one at 513 feet. He hit the roof of the stadium which has never been done before. He also hit one through the ceiling rafters that made it’s way out of the park. And he hit them everywhere! Left field, right field, dead center, over the awful Marlin statute!

But the best part of this beast of a ball player was his demeanor. He looked like he was really having a great time. He delivered a really wonderful interview prior to his first at-bat and maintained his gentle giant demeanor throughout the derby.

And the show isn’t over yet. Judge will make is all-star debut tonight and will be the first Yankee outfielder to start since Curtis Grandson did it in 2012. But his defensive performance with George Springer and Mookie Betts most likely won’t be the highlight for Judge. Look for him to hit some rockets out of Marlins Park.

And you can catch Aaron Judge and the rest of the New York Yankees make a run for the playoffs at Yankee Stadium or on the road. Should be a great ticket.

Cheaper Than Face!

The folks at CheapSeatsTickets always want you to get the best deal on every ticket. That’s why we usually suggest you start with the official distributor for face value tickets. But face value isn’t always the cheapest option. Sometimes, especially when an event isn’t selling particularly well (like late preseason NFL games), the secondary market will adjust to reflect the market value of a ticket. But sometimes the face value is just flat-out higher.

Take Florida Georgia Line tickets at the Glen Helen Amphitheater just outside of Los Angeles. Lawn seats on LiveNation start at $25 per ticket. But with the addition of a service fee and a facility charge, the $25 ticket ends up costing fans more than $40 per ticket. The same ticket on CheapSeatsTickets is $30.36 and you can get it for even less with the coupon code “Cruise” (to the first 5 lucky fans).

Thanks to one of our fans who discovered this gem. There are literally thousands of great deals on our site so be sure to compare our prices and save.

Yankees/Red Sox, Just another battle for the AL East

The Yankees and Red Sox are at it again in 2017. The two are neck and neck for the number one spot in the AL East. The Yankees ran into a a serious contender in Oakland as the As swept the Bronx Bombers. The Red Sox, on the other hand, took three of four from the Houston Astros and pushed their way into an effective tie with the Yankees for first place in the East. With another Red Sox win in Kansas City and a Yankee home loss, the Red Sox took sole possession of first place only to hand it back to the Yankees the next day.

But the best part of the AL East story are the other three teams in the division. Remember them? The Tampa Bay Rays, the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays are all within 5 games of the Yankees but no one is talking about any of those teams. With payrolls exceeding $100 million for the 25-man roster, the AL east stakes claim to 4 of the top 10 payrolls in the big leagues. And while this certainly doesn’t guarantee a ring at the end of the season, it does ensure you will likely be competitive throughout the year.

Look for the AL east to secure both Wild Card spots and make a push through the American League playoffs. It should be a fun one in 2017.

Mayweather McGregor Fight, Childhood Dreams

Mike Tyson won the WBC title when I was 14 years old and one year later, he added the WBA and IBF titles making him the first heavyweight boxer to unify the three titles. But more importantly, Tyson won twelve of his first nineteen fights by knocking out his opponent in the first round. As a kid, the thought of making millions of dollars to not even last one round was the fantasy of legends. The most serious of questions on every teenager in the country was this: would you get in the ring with Tyson for $1 million dollars?

One person who has answered that questions with a definitive “yes” is Conor McGregor. Only he stands to make closer to $100 million in this reality scenario. While Mayweather will likely pocket four times that amount, for McGregor it represents more than he’s ever made in the world of MMA. And let’s face it, while McGregor likely doesn’t stand a chance in a strict boxing format, the guy is tough as nails and can certainly take a punch (and a kick and a knee). And since the childhood me would have taken $100 million for a few blows to the head, McGregor will likely walk out of that ring alive.

So for the millions of fans that will fork out the pay-per-view dough to watch an event that likely won’t last more than a few minutes, it represents more than just a fight. For most of us, it’s the fantasy that we will never realize, the right to fight a champion for a big payout.

Clemson Redemption Complete in 2017 National Championship

The Clemson Tigers are the College Football National Champions. The Tigers posted 21 points in the fourth quarter to claim the #1 spot in the nation winning 35-31. Dabo Swinney mastermind an offense that slowly wore down the dominant Alabama defense. With a 3 point deficit, Deshain Watson led the Tigers on a final drive with two minutes left to win the title for the Tigers.

But the biggest story were the ticket prices which were the most expensive ever for a college football championship game. The average ticket price leading into the game hovered around $2,500 per ticket while the “get-in” price for a ticket was just under $2,000. The demand for the same ticket one year ago was about 25 cents on the dollar (2016 Alabama vs. Clemson in Arizona).

The rematch clearly drove the value of tickets. And people who bought early saved a ton! With the national championship game located a stone’s throw from Alabama and Clemson, prices nearly doubled the day after the teams one their respective semifinal games. And while ticket prices often drop as game day approaches, that was not the case for this game.

For Clemson fans, it was the opportunity of a lifetime to see what hadn’t been done in 111 years – beat Alabama. And fans had good reason to believe their team could get the job done with the ball in the hands of their veteran Quarterback. The Tigers delivered an experience no Clemson fan will ever forget.

CheapSeatsTickets had great seats at the lowest prices for the game. If you weren’t there, remember to get your seats here for the next big meeting in 2017!
